New York is a City Filled with Dreamers

December 14, 2015

On December 9, 2015 nearly 1,000 Kiva supporters gathered to celebrate small businesses with the launch of Kiva NYC. The launch event showcased more than 30 local Kiva borrowers and their products, ranging from baked goods to handmade jewelry and prints. At the event, it was announced that Kiva will support the dreams of smalll business owners in the five boroughs of New York City by providing access to 0% Interest Loans up to $10,000.

In an inspiring address to the audience, former President Bill Clinton, founder of the Clinton Foundation said, "The world needs two things more than anything else. It needs positive identity, the belief that our common humanity matters more than our differences. And it needs a system of inclusive universal empowerment so that we can live and prosper together, raise our children together, and have an entirely different future than what dominates most of the headlines today. That's why Kiva in the United States is so important."

You can help support the dreams of local small businesses by making a matched loan today. By lending as little as $25, you can be part of a system of inclusive empowerment and take an active role in choosing the shape of NYC's future.
